Tennessee Williams’ classic drama A Streetcar Named Desire is getting a riveting Broadway revival starring Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch. Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson headed to Elysian Fields to take in Emily Mann’s production and pen a portrait of the four headliners in action in Stancy and Stella's claustrophobic New Orleans apartment. Experience these passionate artists in action now at the Broadhurst Theatre!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
